That content is king has become a success mantra of Punjabi movies too these days. Besides entertainment for the entire family, Punjabi directors have also been giving social messages through their works. This has obviously translated into the cash register ringing for producers and directors alike.
Another upside of this growing emphasis on meaningful content is that a lot of talented actors have started appearing on screen. The line-up also has singers and directors giving impactful performances, besides the much-talented women actors.
Joining the league of these actors now is Ajay Sarkaria, whose debut movie ‘Ardab Mutiyaran’ is up for release next Friday, October 18. Not a new face on screen, Ajay Sarkaria is playing the lead in ‘Ardab Mutiyaran’ opposite Sonam Bajwa.
Having learnt the nuances of acting from the Theatre and Cinema from Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, this 28-year-old Law student from Panjab University, Chandigarh, Ajay Sarkaria is all set to create waves in the Punjabi movie industry. To his credit already is a cameo role in the famous Series 24 with Anil Kapoor.
There is no doubt that a lot of movies are being made in the Punjabi industry for a couple of years now. Till quite recently, the high point of most of the Punjabi movies has been comedy. But gradually the focus has started shifting to more serious work. And Ajay Sarkaria breezes in with the promise of highly-talented work that is sure to leave a lasting impression. The trailer of ‘Ardab Mutiyaran’ clearly shows that Ajay Sarkaria will not only entertain the audience but also leave a lasting impression on their minds.
But it has not been a smooth sail for Ajay. Once known as PUNJABI AUDITION BOY, for having appeared at every possible audition anywhere, little had he known that his debut is going to be opposite one of the leading female actors Sonam Bajwa. The banner is also not less, it being the much sought-after White Hill Studios.
Ajay can easily be labelled as an actor who looked completely at ease right from the clap sound. The comfort that Ajay has shown while facing the camera comes very rare and he is surely going to be a director’s delight.
